Offering Event types through a Master page

Event types offered on your Master page allow your Customer to select the type of meeting they require before selecting the date and time. Event types are added to Master pages either directly or indirectly, depending on the scenario you've chosen for your Master page.

In this article, you'll learn about adding Event types to Master pages directly and indirectly.

Directly adding Event types to Master pages

Rule-based assignment Master pages with Dynamic rules allow you to directly add Event types to Master pages. 

  1. Create the Event types that you want to offer on your Master page.

    NoteYou can also create Event types by duplicating existing Event types.

  2. Create a Master page with the Rule-based assignment scenario. If you've already created one previously, go to Setup and select the relevant Rule-based assignment Master page .
  3. Go to the Assignment section of the Master page.
  4. In the Rule types section, select Dynamic (Figure 1).

  5. In the Event-based rules section, click Add rule.
  6. Select which Event types will be offered in your Master page (Figure 2). For each Event type you want to add, you'll need to add a new rule. Master pages with Dynamic rules can only include Event types configured to Automatic booking and Single session. Learn more about conflicting settings when using Dynamic rules

  7. Next, use the Primary team member drop-down to select who will provide your Event types. The Primary team member can be a specific Booking page or a Resource pool.
  8. If your Event type requires multiple Team members from your organization, use the Additional team members drop-down to add them.

    NoteThe same Resource pool cannot be selected as the Primary team member and as the Additional team member in a single rule. Learn more about conflicting settings when using Dynamic rules

  9. Reorder the Event types to ensure they appear on your Master page in the order that you want. You can move a row up or down by clicking on the left side of the row and dragging to the position you want.
  10. Click Save.

Indirectly adding Event types to Master pages

You can only offer Event types indirectly on Master pages with the following scenarios: 

In these Master page scenarios, Event types are added to your Master indirectly via the Booking pages included in the Master page. Follow these steps to add Event types to these types of Master pages:

  1. Create the Event types that you want to offer in your Master page.

    NoteYou can also create Event types by duplicating existing Event types.

  2. Create the Booking pages that you want to include in your Master page and associate Event types with your Booking pages.

    NoteNote that you can also create Booking pages by duplicating existing Booking pages.

  3. Create a Master page with Event types first, Booking pages first, or Rule-based assignment with Static rules. If you've already created one previously, go to Setup and select the relevant Rule-based assignment Master page .
  4. Go to the Assignment section of the Master page. 
  5. In the Included Booking pages section, select the Booking pages you want to include from the drop-down. Only Booking pages that are associated with Event types can be selected in the Master page.
    You will see which Event types are associated with each of the Booking pages you selected. These Event types will be offered in your Master page.
  6. Click Save.

Note When Event types are organized in public categories, additional labels and instructions are available for customization.
